Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES officially opened the season of festive celebrations on Friday, 6th December 2019 with Minster of Education, Mr. Ong Ye Kung who graced the inaugural Christmas light up.On its first night open to the public, over 300 people showed up in support of the grand reveal and line-up of events that evening.Capitol Singapore proudly transformed into a festive wonderland with the first-ever Capitol Kempinski Singing Tree, which came to life with the voices of over 60 carolers and one of the largest European-inspired Christmas markets in Singapore.In the lead up to Christmas,from 6 December to 24 December 2019,shoppers get to revel in the Christmas festivities at Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES, both sited in the vibrant downtown Civic District and merely a stone’s throw apart
An array of exciting activities and events await at Capitol Singapore spread over the Outdoor Plaza and stretching into the Arcade space, complete with an outdoor ice-skating rink with scheduled snow fall every evening;over 50 food and retail booths which will sell mouth-watering Christmas goodies like panetonne ,log cakes, stollen and chilled mulled wine among others;and festive retail booths for seasonal trinkets.
Over at CHIJMES, visitors were welcomed to explore the Instagram Wonderland, with seven festive art installations spread across the grounds at CHIJMES for the perfect backdrop for holiday snaps;and laser projection shows of iconic Christmas scenes set to captivate and enthrall.
Christmas musicians, carollers and mascots were on the move, and will make their stops along the many lifestyle and dining outlets to add spread the festive cheer as you wine and dine.Look out for QR codes that will be show amidst the shows and scan them for a chance to redeem gifts from CHIJMES!
