Next up is the Bountiful Treasures Pen Cai, another essential for the Lunar New Year which includes mouth-watering ingredients such as huge prawns, abalone, roast pork, salmon sashimi, mushrooms, fat choy, roast duck and sea cucumber.
The Lap Mei Fried Rice with seaweed crumb was scrumptious, greatly pleasing to the taste as the rice soaked up sauces perfectly. Together with the lap cheong, it was a hearty old school dish.
There’s also the Seabass with sweet and sour sauce, another classic dish favoured by people of all ages.
The stir-fried prawn with chilli and curry leaves just left burts of shiok-ness when you consume it in one bite – simply heavenly, bursting with a hint of spice.
Not forgetting the roast meat selection, there’s crackling roast pork, roast duck, roast chicken, char siew, crackers and many sauces to pair them with.
Moving onto desserts, the buffet offers a plethora of selections such as yam paste with gingko nuts dumpling with osmanthus honey, sesame balls filled with red bean paste, mango sago, honeydew sago, mango pudding, pancakes with red bean filling, an assortment of nonya kuehs and more. Great for the sweet tooth with a Chinese twist!
